Sadness

This is a sad and hard post.

As some of you know, before Christmas my Mom had a heart valve replaced, at the QE2 in Halifax. Complications set in from that, and she was put on a ventilator. Two weeks ago she was transfered to Yarmouth, hoping that in a months time or so she would be transfered to Shelburne.

On Thursday she had a turn for the worst. And in the very early start of today she passed away.

I'm sad, I'm going to miss her. I'm most likely going to knit lots ... or none.

I am very sorry for your loss. My wonderful mother in law suffered a heart attack and had a stent put in back in March of 2007. She never got off the ventilator. She suffered until November of that year. It was horrible to watch. She never regained enough strength to breath on her own. She was also on dialysis and decided to stop it becasue she did not want to live on the vent any longer. She couldn't come home because of the dialysis.

Sometimes the heartache is actually a blessing for the patient, even though they leave us with a broken heart.....

Knitting got me through. You will knit and knit a lot for sure!
